Hey there, it's Michael on Mondays. I love sharing a short meditation with you. And on this Monday, I woke to the news that Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle, we're tragically killed. Rob was an actor. And a director, you might know him from when Harry met Sally or the movie, A Few Good Men, and of course he directed one of my favorites, the Princess Bride.

And you may or may not know that I end almost every blog post I put up on Substack and on my website. With a line, have fun storming the castle. It's a line from the Princess Bride. To me, it's about pursuing. True love, even when times are dark. Now, I've been criticized because people may not have seen the movie that I'm promoting violence, which is not the case, especially if you know me.

And right after January 6th here in the states, many people said I should stop using the line because people might confuse Castle with capital. But the way I look at it, I'm only trying to reach those that are smart enough to know the difference between capital and castle. So today I'd like to share a short, have fun storm in the castle meditation with you as a way to remember.

The art that Rob Reer gave to all of us, and with his art, the joy and happiness that we were able to get by watching it. So when you're ready, settle in to a comfortable position.

As you get comfortable, you can close your eyes if it feels safe to do so.

And we'll drop in. Let's begin with a slow breath through your nose. If you can let it travel all the way down deep into your belly. And then slowly exhale through the mouth

almost as if you're releasing any weight that you happen to be carrying into this moment.

And if that felt good, we can do it again. Breathing in. Notice that you're breathing in.

And breathing out, noticing that you're breathing out

now, I'll invite you to bring to mind. The idea of a castle, not a fairytale one, but a real one. This castle represents the places in your life where you feel guarded or you might feel uncertain. Maybe it represents the conversations that you might be avoiding. Or the risk that you're not sure you can take, or even the love that feels too vulnerable to pursue.

As you bring this to mind, notice what comes up. What do you sense? What do you feel? It could be more tightness or worry, or it could be curiosity. Or excitement, whatever it is, just let it be here. And as you continue to breathe in and breathe out, allow yourself to soften around it

as you remind yourself that you don't need certainty. To pursue love

and you don't need guarantees to feel brave

having fun. Storming the castle isn't witty Banter. It is the pursuit of true love. It's about compassion. It knows that it could be hard or it could be messy, but still we show up. And we pursue true impeccable love.

As you breathe, imagine yourself stepping forward, not with armor, but with openness.

Not with a plan, but simply presence. While others may doubt. That this could work, that it may require a miracle you still pursue. Love. You know, you can have fun storm in the castle,

which is a beautiful way of approaching life.

So carry this with you today. Be brave. Be kind. Be fully human.

And whatever you might be facing, have fun storming the castle,

and when you feel ready, you can begin to ease your attention.

And start to flutter the eyes open and wiggle your fingers and toes. I hope you enjoyed the practice and you'll remember to continue pursuing true and impeccable love, and you'll have fun storming the castle.

It is our way of putting a beautiful ripple into the world.
